We had been engaged in a business wherein my hubby, DAN, could perfectly deal with his clients , had mastered his craft and excelled on it until he came across with this company that made him reach the boiling point.
My husband created a DOS based payroll software back in late 80's. A big number of companies, especially a chain of restaurant is currently using the program until now, but still it's in DOS base.
He had been finding ways on how to convert it windows. He met a lot programmers, did his own research because he thought , he'd upgrade the system himself. Unfortunately, he lacks time due to several engagement and other stuff.
At first he thought it was the perfect answer to his long search for a payroll program.
Integra Payroll Master was really good unless you go deeper into the details.
He met Alvin from Supremosoft, Supremosoft is the company in the Philippines authorized to sell the product.
They had an agreement , bundles/packages , I believe, but there were catches.
1. Distributorship- Release of post dated checks amounting to more or less 200 Thousand pesos with 60 boxes of the Integra Payroll System.
2. Integra Payroll System , the product itself have some problems that they can't and don't want to change. I don't know why.
3. The support system is really SLLLLLLOOOOOOWWWWWW I tell you. They will show their support after a week or two so you have to be patient.
4. Registering your newly purchased Integra Payroll System will take long, probably weeks or more.
And they don't have an explanation to this.
With these problems at hand, Dan decided to cease the distribution and talked to a certain ALVIN about the payroll's problems and was not able to resolve it with so was determined to return the boxes we have and he requested for the checks not to be deposited by their company but to no avail they still deposited the checks. Fortunately, Dan called the bank for stop payment
They just want to have to clients but they don't know how to take care of their clients and listen and answer what they need to know.
Dan is also promoting and a distributor of an accounting system from Sage, the Peachtree Accounting but he hasn't encountered such problems.
The only problem though was placing orders of the product in the US, shipping and charges in the customs.
We will soon be posting company names, including their contact numbers, who had purchased the Integra Payroll System and that are complaining and was disappointed.
Just to let you know that this is not just a JOKE.
We'll be posting more soon... (:=(

Facial Creme de Banana
I am getting old. Yes, we are all getting old but if there is a way to delay it , whether artificial or it maybe natural, we should do something to impede the manifestation of aging. Okay, what am I saying is WRINKLES. It is inevitable.
This recipe is for supple skin as well as maintaining the skin's natural glow. Banana is also wonderful as an anti-wrinkle treatment.
You will need:
Ripe Banana
Procedure:
Mash 1/4 banana until very creamy. Spread all over your face and leave for 15-20 minutes before rinsing off with warm water followed by a dash of cold water. Then gently pat dry.

High Heels...Glide on!
Parties!Parties! It's December so we are all going to have parties to attend...So better prepare your dress and high heels..
There are benefits to wearing high heels aside from correctly matching your outfits. High heels also make you look taller (obviously), and make your legs look slimmer and longer.
Here are secrets that are guaranteed to help you sashay like a beauty queen even if you are wearing a trailing long dress and four inch heels. These secrets are enumerated below:
Make sure that the shoes you are buying fit you properly and are shoes that you are comfortable wearing and walking in. Do not force yourself to wear shoes that are too high for you. If you really think that you can only manage two-inch heels, then stick to two-inch heels. Also, before you pay for the shoes you are thinking of buying, try to walk in them inside the store.
Practice walking in your new high heels. Not only will you get used to prancing and gliding in your shoes, but it will also break your shoes in and make them more comfortable for you to wear.
Walk properly. When wearing high heels, you should walk by pointing your toes straight ahead instead of the side. Then, complete the step by setting your heel down. Keep your legs close together and swing your arms, right arm as you step with your left foot and left arm as you step with your right foot, to keep your body balanced. In addition, look straight ahead of you so you would be able to see ahead the spots on the floor or the ground where you could trip and fall.
If you are wearing a long skirt that has a hem that the heels of your shoes can catch, practice walking in such a way that you subtly kick your skirt away from your shoe with your knees. Kicking the skirt discreetly would prevent you from tripping over the fabric.
Maintain a serene appearance in the face of embarrassment. Accidents happen, whether you like it or not. But if you are see one on the verge of happening, like your dress catching on your heel, try to remain calm and smiling as you try to kick the fabric away from your shoe. It only becomes embarrassing when you make it look embarrassing.
Try to take off your heeled shoes whenever you can. Lets face it. Heeled shoes make your legs longer, slimmer and prettier, but they can cause long-term damage to your legs and feet. If you are just sitting down on your desk at work, remove your heels and let your feet rest. Take them off when driving and wear driving shoes instead. Just let your feet rest whenever possible.

CHRISTMAS IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER!
A shout out of a friend of mine said 'Happy New Year!' and I asked her right away why is she in a hurry.
We should be looking forward to Christmas first. We don't have Christmas in our religion, remember? she said.
Oh...if that's the case why was it that she used to celebrate Christmas with us before?
Alright, we have to respect each others beliefs and religion.
So, I just kept it to myself and a liitle dismayed with what I've heard from her.
For some, the 25th of December is just an ordinary one-day holiday.
But for most of us, especially kids, it's a big day worth celebrating!
Gifts, giveaways, foods, reunions, parties and shopping are things and activities that makes
us hustle and be occupied during this season.
Sad to say, there is no white Christmas here but thanks to people that are creative enough to put up amusement
parks that can make us experience a cold and snowy-like place that kids as well as adults love to visit.
The most important of all is the real reason why we are celebrating this very speacial day.
More than anything else, it is the birth of Jesus we are commemorating and we express that in thousand ways
that we're not suppose to do on Christmas day itself but all year round!
I hope everybody will have a very meaningful CHRISTMAS!
Merry Christmas to all!

Wear a Belt Glam Up Your Outfit
You're all set to go out and hit the town, but feel something is missing in your outfit of choice for the day. Whether day or night, belts have exploded this season as a way to add that extra something to your everyday attire.
1= First, you have to buy a black one, a brown one, a gray one and a funky colored one. Get a really thick one, a medium sized one and a super skinny belt. You don't have to spend a lot of money, as many clothing stores have them reasonably priced. If you don't want to spend any money, rummage through your closet and find a few belts you haven't worn in a few years. Brush the dust off them and get ready to style!
2= Take a look at some of the clothes in your closet. Sweaters especially, can seem worn out or out of season after one cold winter. Thinking about throwing them away? Don't! It's time to pull out some of your old sweaters for a "reinvention session".
3= A mid-waist belt takes this average purple Forever 21 sweater and brings it up 5 notches with a fun, youthful look, that goes with any bottom; from a pair of dress slacks to a skirt to jeans and flats With either a pair of leggings or jeans, throw on your old sweater or shirt. Now, take one of the belts - of course, making sure the color matches - and, instead of looping through your jeans or tying around your waist, buckle the belt around your midsection, or directly under your breasts.
4=If you're biggest problem area is your tummy, using a thick belt for your mid-waist slims out your stomach, giving you a smooth hour glass figure. If you're on the thin side, a thicker belt may swallow your torso, so opting for a thinner belt, like the one pictured below from Forever 21 will add detail to your waist, without taking away from your body type.
5=This look works in all environments; dress up your basic business attire with a funky, chunky belt that'll have your co-workers wondering, "how'd she do that?" and "where'd her waist go?" Throw a fun belt on when you're heading out on the town with your girlfriends, to spice up your normal black tube top, jeans and heels routine. With any look, the belt idea brings a sense of trend and style to anything you wear, even those old worn out sweaters!

PAYROLL MISTAKES
I have been employed in a company for almost 3 years now and also worked over-time for a year and so sad to say that I got fed-up with the payroll system.
During one-year OT ,there is ALWAYS a mistake with my pay! Unbelievable but true.
It is not about over-paying me but underpaying me and I hate it!
Finally, I decided to make their life easy. Easier for them to calculate my pay and so I quitted OT.
My two immediate supervisors knew that it was the reason I stopped but then I gave a different reason to the managers.
I hope there will still be a change in the system..(I am keeping my fingers crossed)
Top 10 Payroll Mistakes:
1. Missing deadlines.
2. Misclassifying workers. Because of the growing number of temporary employees, consultants, and other independent contractors, it is essential that you properly determine the classification of everyone working for your company so you can determine how to report payroll information for tax purposes.
3. Neglecting to send 1099s.
4. Poor record keeping and data entry. .
5. Not properly handling garnishments, levies, or child support.
6. Miscalculating overtime pay.
7. Leaving too much responsibility to the software program.
8. Not saving payroll records.
9. Not maintaining confidentiality.
10. Not having adequate backup.

WINTER CLOTHES CARE & STORAGE

When the winter snows start to melt away, and the local swimming pool starts making preparations for its busy season, it’s time to pack away our winter clothes. Sweaters, coats, gloves, hats, and thermals are all thrown into the nearest container and tossed into some out of the way place. Or, if we don’t want any nasty surprises next winter, we take the time to store our clothing properly. Follow these tips to ensure the safety of your clothes.
1.Clean all outfits thoroughly before packing. Particles left on items can stain and set into your clothes after several months of storage. Cleaning the clothes also means that insects will be less likely to take up residence in your sweaters.
2.Plastic storage containers can be used for storing clothes, although if any bug larvae are in the clothing, they will have a feast. Cardboard boxes can be used for temporary storage. Make sure you use new clean boxes to avoid staining and insects. One of the best storage containers is an unused suitcase that has been thoroughly cleaned. Line containers with acid free tissue.
3.Be careful with the use of mothballs. Children are naturally attracted to them with deadly results. Another option would be cedar blocks or cedar lined storage. Mothballs and cedar can be effective against insects, but keep in mind that neither is a complete guarantee.
4.Don’t hang sweaters or other knit items that can become misshapen by long term hanging. Instead carefully fold the items and place into the storage container. Stack your folded items from the lightest items on top to the heaviest items on bottom and it will allow air to circulate.
5.If you hang items, utilize all of the extra hanging loops to keep the clothing from becoming misshapen. Wrap the clothing in something breathable (i.e. fabric). Make sure the clothing has enough room to breathe. This will keep down the risk of mildew and mold.I do not recommend storing clothes in plastic bags.
6.Remember Clean, Cool, Dark, and Dry. Your storage area must be all 4 of these in order to protect your clothing. Clean any area thoroughly before storing. Choose a place that is not likely to be exposed to heat. Avoid areas near heating sources. A dark place will prevent fading and keep the area and clothing cool. Make sure the storage area is dry because wetness will attract mildew and insects.

FIRST SNOWFALL

It was November 20 last week when South Korea, particularly Seoul, had their first snow.
Some of them celebrated the first snowfall during the evening.
Some got messages of love through email and sms.
Some received phone calls from their loved ones.
But some just didn't care.
They just let it pass by and ignore and keep their nose on their very hectic work.
It is winter indeed!
So, what I say to my students most of the time is, be careful, be ready with your winter clothes or just stay home if you don't need to go somewhere because you might just catch a cold.
The first snowfall of the winter is a much-anticipated event around our house. It holds a magic all its own. The common reaction to snow for many parents is dread. What will we do stuck inside with the kids? But if you look at snow through the eyes of your child, you will see a winter wonderland. The first snowfall, or anytime we get snowed in, is time for us to stop what we're doing and enjoy this seasonal delight.
When was the last time you laid in the snow and made snow angels? Have you ever shown your little ones how to do it? Its great fun to lie in the snow and listen to it crunch as you wave your arms and legs back and forth. Sure, you get all wet, but that's when you can come inside, put on something cozy, throw the wet clothes in the dryer, and enjoy hot chocolate in front of a nice warm fireplace.
Each season of the year comes with its own reasons to celebrate. This winter season try to enjoy the quiet time with your child as you explore the winter wonderland in your back yard.
I just wonder how it feels playing snowfight or making snow angels, because there is no winter in the Philippines, so we won't experience these kinds of things.
Lucky you...

SLIPT ENDS? OH NO!!

Split ends are more likely to develop in dry or brittle hair, and typical causes of damage include excessive dying or vigorous brushing. Once the hair cuticle is removed, it is impossible to replace. Typically the hair splits into two or three strands, and can be as long or two to three centimeters in length. The best treatment is to cut off the split end of the damaged fiber.
To Remove Split Ends
1.Take small sections of hair and carefully twist them in a gentle downward motion.
2.Any split ends will automatically stick out.
3.Carefully snip into the twist with sharp scissors. Dont cut right through; just cut into the thickness to remove the damaged cuticles and give a natural layered effect.
4.Be careful to cut roughly the same amount from each twist.
Preventing Split Ends
1.Its best to use a wide tooth comb if your hair is vulnerable to splitting.
2.If possible allow hair to dry naturally. You can use dryer once a while.
3.Minimize tangling. Theres detangle spray available in the store. Another way is using conditioner.
4.If youre using hair color take caution with chemicals. They can make your hair weak and cause split ends.

STYLING IRON CRAZE

If you want to look sexy yet alluring and simply irresistible try these simple steps by using curling iron and get a sexy hair wings and tousled waves.
1.If your hairs on the fine side, wash it with a sudsier thatll give your strands a swing. If you have normal to thick hair, take a barreled round brush and pull your hair as straight as you can while you dry. If you got some natural curl, using a cream first helps.
2.Once your hair is totally dry and as straight as its going to get, create a side part and pull the back section of your hair starting just behind your ears into low ponytail. Secure with elastic. Leave two loose sections of hair beside your face each will be a just few inches wide and spritz both with a heat-shielding spray. Then gently comb the spray through your hair, root to end.
3.Take your curling iron, hold it vertically next to your face, and wrap a two inch- wide section around the iron-away from your face. Note: Because you want big curls, get your hands on an iron with at least a one-inch-wide barrel. Hold the curl for ten seconds, and then release a ringlet. Repeat this process, moving from the top layers of your hair to those underneath but leave the back alone.
4. Once the front half of your head is covered that was holding your ponytail in place and shake that hair loose. Take the big-barreled brush you used to blow-dry your hair and pull through the spirals in front brush down the first, then flip up at the ends to create soft feathers on either side of your face. Dousing with hair spray will help the wings hold-tucking one side behind your ear will get you the look at left.

DIFFERENT HAIRSTYLES

Sometimes, it is just so hard to pick a hairstyle that will suit us. We spend time browsing through fashion magazines just trying to pick out what style would look great on us. But when we finally choose one that we think is simply fabulous and take it to our hairstylist, sometimes the end results is so horrible that instead of prancing around and displaying our new do, we hide it by tying our hair in ponytails or wearing hats until our hair grows long enough to be cut once more.
Sometimes, it is not enough to just follow the trends and to have our hair done in what is considered the hottest and trendiest hairstyle around at the moment. We have to make sure that this hottest and trendiest hairstyle really suits our hair and the shape of our face. After all, we might just end up wasting money and needlessly frustrated, merely because we did not like what the hairstylist did to our hair.
What do we need to do when choosing the perfect hairstyle for us? Among the few things we should take into account when choosing hairdos is the shape of our face, as well as our age. But now let us discuss the right kind of hairstyle that goes with our age that is in style right now.
The shaggy bob is good for women in their twenties today, the one with the graduated and structured layers. It is young and hip and stylish, and at the same time makes a woman look sophisticated.
Hair with lots of layers and reaching the shoulders or even to the middle of the back is a good and current hairstyle for women in their thirties. This kind of hairstyle gives women a natural yet sophisticated look that is just sexy and alluring.
A hairstyle with that frames the face and cut with lots of short layers, and perhaps bangs or a fringe would look fabulous for a woman in her forties. Short hair that is easy to maintain would make her look young but without seeming like she is trying too hard. The layers will also hide the wrinkles and draw the eyes away from the sags and the facelift scars.
Another question to ask when choosing the perfect hairstyle is to color. Should you have your hair colored or not? If you are going to have your hair colored, you might as well choose a style that will require minimum maintenance. Ideally, this would be sticking to your natural hair color and just adding a few highlights around the face.
If you are going to change the color of your hair, make sure you are prepared to deal with the regular maintenance needed to touch up the roots and to keep your hair soft, shiny and damage-free. If your skin is light and has cool skin tones, better go for the light hair colors. If your skin has warmer tones, then stick to the warmer and darker hair colors.

WEAR ALL BLACK

Rules to live by when it comes to wearing black:
* Avoid 100% cotton - Cotton tends to fade as time passes. In addition to holding the dye longer and more completely with a higher luster, cotton with Lycra or mercerized cotton has greater strength and shrinks less.
* Prefer wool blends - Wool fabrics create deeper and richer blacks. Since wool retains dyes better and longer, fading is less of a problem. Suits, skirts, and sweaters look exceptionally classy in woolen fabrics, and will last for years.
* Toss faded clothing immediately - Clothing that has faded simply does not blend as well. Rather than risk looking tacky, toss the item and replace it with something exciting.
* Match completely - Black clothing often presents a cast or shine of a different color, for example, purple, green, or brown. Therefore, you should take the time to match your clothing carefully when creating an all black outfit.
* Minimize fading - Dark colors, especially black, should always be laundered in cold water to minimize fading. When washing an article of clothing for the first time, you can add a cup of vinegar to help set the dye. Dry cleaning, also, takes less of a toll on the dye and will help to keep your clothes looking fresh longer.
* Maximize appeal - Wearing black can create a sleek and mysterious vision, or it can create a picture that says too many words. Maintain the care of your outfits carefully. Avoid the build up of lint of all kinds through carefully laundering and matching up of your outfits.
* Accessorize to add a heightened look of elegance - Even the word, embellishment sounds pretty.Glitz and glitter add an air of excitement, so add a few unique pieces of jewelry, a snazzy purse, or stylish shoes to top off the perfect outfit.
* Personalize to create a unique statement - Select a style that suits your physique and personality. Personalize your outfit with jewelry, layering, and other accessories.
Not-so-basic black has become an intriguing component of fashion. LOOK TALLER!

Did you know that you are considered petite if you stack up 54 or shorter? Many women enjoy a shorter height, for it makes chasing the males so much easier. But ask yourself this: Have you ever worn high heels and wound up with terrible foot aches within hours? If youve ever wished you could look taller, read on for tips to creating an illusionary image that conveys tallness.
Rock out with vertical stripes and lines! Choose pleats, patterns or plain old stripes. They elongate your body while also giving you a slimmer, trimmer appearance.
Add other vertical elements into your wardrobe. Try button-down shirts and sweaters, zip-front apparel and racing stripes. Get a little sexy with a slit in your skirt front, back or side will do just fine. Pinstripes are totally trendy right now, but you can also sport beads, embroidery, pretty patterns, corduroy and any number of creative customizations in a vertical format. Ribbed patterns and pleats also add to the vertical aspect.
Wear a v-neck shirt or sweater for the appearance of added height. The v-neck gives an illusion of a longer torso, while we all know that high heels are the only fashion accessories that physically do make us taller. Speaking of Create a few true extra inches with platforms or high heels. Depending on the rest of your outfit, you can judge if the chunky heels, stiletto heels or platform sandals will work best. Dont forget about the timeless value of a nice pair of boots! Every gals wardrobe should contain a staple of shoes blacks and browns, summer and winter styles, open-toe, closed-toe and boots. If your feet become sensitive to pressure easily, consider wearing platforms over heels, or just skip the stylish shoes altogether and opt for flats.
Introduce accessories that will add height to your image. Silky scarves, dangling earrings and long pendants, pearls or necklaces should give a nice boost to your stature. Accessories like sunglasses, hats, barrettes and shawls can also add to the height factor.
Choose pants that fit properly and brush the tops of your shoes. Your pants should definitely cover your socks, creating an appearance of longer legs. Some trendy pants of varying lengths may not be the best for you if you are trying to add the illusion of height to your physique.
Worry less about the things you cant change and focus on the things you can change. Finally, when everything is said and done, the perfect dress or suit can really make the occasion. Put your main focus on coordinating the perfect outfit from the clothing itself to the best shoes, purse and accessories you can find.

SOUTH KOREA UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE EXAM

NOVEMEBER 13, 2008- EXAMINATION DAY
My student still could clearly remember the day she failed the university entrance examination.
She thought, she was a loser and a failure. Her parents were disappointed at her. She studied hard for the following year's test and finally made it. She had graduated university and is now working in one of the biggest company in Seoul.^^
Colleges and universities in Korea operate under strict enrollment limits. Because of the difference in college admission quotas and the number of applicants, each school year produces a large number of repeat applicants who add to the intensity of competition for college admission. The number of repeat applicants has been declining in recent years due to the expansion of the number of students admitted per year and the increasing number of support systems for repeat students.
The college entrance examination system underwent a drastic reform in 1981. The main entrance examination was abolished and a new system was introduced that combined scholastic achievements in high school with the score obtained in the nationwide qualifying examination to determine the applicant's eligibility for admission.
In an effort to broaden the autonomy of colleges and universities and to normalize high school examination-bound education, a new entrance examination was introduced in April 1991. In this new system, the students' high school records accorded for 40 percent of the overall admissions decision. It also gave individual colleges the right to decide how to weigh the applicants' college scholastic achievement test scores with those administered by the colleges themselves.
In almost all colleges and universities, applicants are also allowed to apply for special screening. Students from farming and fishing villages and handicapped students may be selected through this process. Although the dates for these exams are set by the Ministry of Education, each university can select specific dates at its convenience. Students are allowed to apply for as many universities as they choose only if they are offered exams on different dates.

NEW HABIT:DRINKING TOMATO JUICE

A few months back, a vain student of mine was telling me about drinking tomato juice.
She was telling me about the benefits of it and I got curious.
I researched on the net and found out that it is good for our body.
And it has been two months now since I have been drinking one glass of
tomato juice in the morning on an empty stomach.
I have observed a few changes that is taking place my body.
I don't know if this is just psychological or what but I like it.
Firstly, I usually can't meet the RDA of lycopene in my system so I am trying to get as much as I could.
I can't prepare food with tomato sauce or tomatoes frequently so I am sure that this is really something good that has called my conscious mind.
I learned from some ads that making a dish with tomato juice at least 2 or three times in a week will be best for our body.
And the other reason is, I am concerned about my skin.
I have lots of pimples not only on my face but also on my body.
Tomatoes are good for the skin, as my mom told me before.
In order for me to get rid of the nasty zits I 'd drink the juice instead of eating tomatoes.
I just took this chance knowing that it won't harm me at all if I do.
And fortunately, I am so proud to say that it really did help me.
I am also on a diet. So, everytime I drink a glass of tomato juice in the morning I feel full.
It keeps me hydrated throughout the day.
And most of all, I can see good results on my face and body.
The pimples on my body were gone.
No zits on my face as well.
How I wish I knew this long time ago.
I know it's not too late...
I have to let my daughter do what I am doing now at her early age.
And let her experience the wonders of tomato juice.^

It became a habit for me to prepare TUNA SPAGHETTI during weekend.
It is so easy to prepare and of course , it's good for the heart.

you'll need:
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 sm. can Hunt's tomato sauce
1 can tuna, drain off oil
Salt and pepper

PEPERO DAY

Pepero Day is an observance in South Korea similar to Valentine's Day. It is named after the Korean snack Pepero and held on November 11, since the date "11/11" resembles four sticks of Pepero. The holiday is observed mostly by young people and couples, who exchange Pepero sticks, other candies, and romantic gifts. Lotte denies starting the holiday and instead states that they noticed a bump in Pepero sales around November 11th and after continued popularity they decided to then encourage the holiday with special gift boxes and other promotions. Some consider it to be a contrived holiday and some teachers have encouraged children to exchange healthy snacks to help combat obesity.
According to one story, Pepero Day was started in 1994 by students at a girls' middle school in Busan, where they exchanged Pepero sticks as gifts to wish one another to grow "as tall and slender as a Pepero".
In Japan, a similar Pocky Day was started however it has failed to gain traction.
Pepero (빼빼로) is a cookie stick, dipped in chocolate syrup, manufactured by Lotte in South Korea since 1983. It is similar to, and inspired by, the Japanese chocolate-covered snack food, Pocky. Lotte usually does about 55% of their Pepero business in November every year. In early October 2008 melamine was found in some Pepero.
As of 2007, it was sold in 10 different flavors:
- Regular
- Strawberry-flavored
- Almond Chocolate
- Nude (chocolate in the center)
- Nude Lemon Cheese
- Cocoa
- Soft
- Cheese
- "Woman in White" and "Man in Black" are slightly more "classy" brands of Pepero, and both have chocolate cookie bits scattered throughout the chocolate dip.
- Topic, a style similar to Japanese Toppo, also manufactured by Lotte.

BLOOD TYPE DIET

This was the topic asked to me by my student this morning. So, I decided to post it here.^^
The blood type diet was introduced by Peter J. D'Adamo in 1996 in a book entitled "Eat Right For Your Type; The individualized diet solution to staying healthy, living longer and achieving your ideal weight." This diet program uses the four blood types as a premise for what foods one should eat, what type of exercise one should do, and to what diseases one is susceptible.
The cells in your body have certain distinct chains of sugar (polysaccharides), which give you a specific blood type; O, A, AB or B. The key to the individualized diet, claims D'Adamo, is matching the correct food to whichever of the four classifications of blood type you fit into.
Type O Blood, D'Adamo tells us you're a "hardy hunter gatherer" who thrives on a carnivorous diet and vigorous exercise and who should avoid foods like oat bran and corn flakes.
Type As, on the other hand, are the "cultivators," who to succeed should avoid meat altogether and focus on complex carbohydrates such as grains and vegetables. These people, D'Adamo says, should release stress with calming activities such as yoga.
Type B, is "the nomad" and lies somewhere between A and O and can enjoy a varied diet of carbohydrates, proteins, vegetables and dairy products. True to its name, this type should engage in moderate, mobile exercise such as walking or swimming. Finally, type AB, "the enigma," is one that doesn't quite seem to fit into the blood type system. This person may have the intolerances of As and B but nevertheless can eat a variety of foods.
The blood type theory is founded on anthropology. D'Adamo reasons that as type O was the first blood type to evolve, then people with this blood type should eat like our hunter-gatherer ancestors. By the same logic, type Bs or the 'nomads' are so categorized because it was around the time of the great global migrations that type B evolved.

CELLPHONE AND KIDS

My daughter lost her phone last Friday.
She brought her phone to school and agreed not to bring it out in the classroom but the problem was when they were already in the school bus.
They were playing with her phone and taking pictures. She didn't notice that no one put it back to her bag and no one admits who last touched it.
I am not hoping she'll get it back. A cellphone is a cellphone.^^
My daughter is too young to haave a cellphone, I know. But as a mom I wanted to make sure that I can talk to her anytime I want to or in cases of emergency.
Just like today, she had a fever last night and I am worried and wondering how she feels now...
Modern-day parents feel often more secure and have greater peace of mind, when their children are equipped with their own mobile phones. The kids can be contacted at any time to make sure they are safe, and parents will also know that if their children are ever in an emergency situation, they can be contacted, and can quickly come to their offspring’s rescue.
While the pro's of kids having access to wireless and mobile technology seems apparent, there are obvious inherent downsides when it comes to the class room environment, and some schools have already put a ban on cell and mobile phones on school property. Indeed, as cool as the child thinks it may be to talk and text all day long, it can at times be quite disturbing to others, especially if the youngster is boisterously loud, or uses inappropriate language.
The use of a mobile will increase a child’s responsibility. They have to avoid losing it, charge it when needed, stay within their cell phone plan's minutes, and choose who they want to talk to or not. As much as adults often refuse to accept the fact that their children are as vulnerable as the ones next door, a mobile is another way to communicate with the outside world, a reality parents have little supervision over. A phone is a two-way communication system, and where one can dial out, one can also receive. There is no way to tell who is on the other end, and even though it may just be a very good friend checking on homework assignments, it may also be a sex offender, well protected by anonymity, and most likely, pretending to be someone else.If children abuse their parent’s trust, the privilege of a mobile phone could and should be taken away, or limited. Some phones have special control settings that can be programmed to reject incoming calls from unwanted individuals, and will also allow you to configure which phone numbers the kids themselves can dial. Parents who have complete confidence in their children’s phone use can allow them full feature access and easily add them to a cost-effective family plan, which may include unlimited texting. Pre-paid or pay-as-you-go service plans manage the time spent on the phone, and these types of mobiles most likely come with less features.Rewarding a child with a mobile communication device can be quite an adventure and, as with many gifts, will come with advantages and challenges. As they always say ..a coin has two sides.

LET'S TALK ABOUT TOMATOES

Tomato juice is a juice made from squeezed tomatoes. It is usually used as a beverage, either plain or in cocktails such as a Bloody Mary.
HISTORY
Tomato juice is said to have been served first in 1917 by noted chef Louis Perrin at the French Lick Springs Hotel in southern Indiana when he ran out of orange juice and needed a substitute.
PRODUCTION
Many commercial manufacturers of tomato juice also add salt. Other ingredients are also often added, such as onion powder, garlic powder, and other spices.
HEALTH BENEFITS OF TOMATO JUICE
A recent small scale study has indicated that tomato juice contains a factor that inhibits platelets in blood from clumping together and forming blood clots. The authors suggest this might be beneficial to diabetes sufferers. The actual effect of increased intake of tomato juice by diabetics has never been studied.
Tomato juice also contains the antioxidant lycopene which some people believe might protect against cancer.
In Canada and Mexico, tomato juice is popular mixed with beer, the concoction is known in Canada as Calgary Red-Eye and in Mexico as Cerveza preparada. Tomato juice is the base for the cocktails Bloody Mary and Bloody Caesar, and the cocktail mixer Clamato.
Apart from the obvious use as a beverage, tomato juice's mild acidity means that it can be used to clean up old coins or metal saucepans in much the same way as other acidic substances such as Coca Cola are used.
Tomato juice is frequently used as a packing liquid for canned tomatoes, though it is sometimes replaced by tomato puree for international commerce due to tariff issues on vegetables vs. sauces. According to Cook's Illustrated magazine, tomatoes packed in juice as opposed to puree tend to win taste tests, being perceived as fresher tasting.
The juice is also thought to be an effective cleaning agent against skunk musk. Its effectiveness was tested on MythBusters and it was found to be "Plausible", though it may only work to mask the smell.
Tomato juice is used in the preparation of tomato juice agar, used to culture various species of Lactobacillus.
-It is the official state beverage of Ohio [3].
-In the VeggieTales episode "Moe and the Big Exit," Moe turns the river into tomato juice, which is a plague upon Dodgeball City.
-Tomato juice is a popular, and apparently viable (albeit temporary), substitute for blood in fiction involving vampires.
-Dante, the main character from the Devil May Cry franchise, primarily drinks tomato juice. This is most notable in the manga.

FASTER THAN DIAL UP????

We've been ISP subscribers for two years now.
We had PLDTmy DSL and Globelines Broadband at home, both at the same time, and just recently my hubby have SmartBro999 installed in his office which is just a few blocks away from our house.
ACtually, we had the PLDTmyDSL disconnected after a year and maintained globelines broadband because we thought it was the BEST ISP provider available.
But two months ago, we'd experienced phoneline problems and no internet connection so often that it turned my very kind husband into a 'nasty ' person and just lost his patience in doing follow-ups for our net repair.
You might not believe that we didn't have phone line connection in two weeks and that 's when Dan decided again to give up and have the globelines be cut.
As per contract, we were supposed to maintain it for 2 years BUT since their service was the WORST , the 2 year lock-in period was waived and they had no choice but to disconnect it. GOOD RIDDANCE.

COMPARISON IN BUYING & RENTING A HOUSE

♣ Which is better Renting OR Buying ♣
We have lived in 4 different houses in a span of 8 years.
We move a lot.^^
Most of my friends told me to buy a house instead of renting. It is not that easy.
It is expensive to buy a house in the city.
And I don't want to live in the countryside at his moment or even ten years later.
In most cases, it's better to buy a home than to rent. But not in every case. Comparing buying to renting is actually a fairly complicated endeavor. Fortunately we can give you some quick rules of thumb. You should usually buy instead of rent except when:
1. You intend to move within a few years
2. Your rent is very low (~ 2/3 or less of what your total monthly payments would be for buying a house, including taxes & insurance)
3. You don't expect to live more than another 15 years
If you choose to rent instead of buy, you should save and invest religiously.
Building equity vs. "throwing your money away"
A big myth is that it's better to buy because by owning you're not "throwing your money away on rent". But when you buy a home you will still throw money away on things that don't build any equity. These include:
1. Closing costs
2. Interest on your mortgage
3. Property taxes
4. Property Insurance
5. Private Mortgage Insurance (if your down payment is less than 20%)
6. Maintenance
In fact, these "throwaway" expenses are more than you'd likely spend on rent. If the only financial advantage to buying a home were building equity, it wouldn't be enough to offset these expenses, and it would be better to rent. The reason that buying is usually better than renting is not because you avoid throwing money away, it's because:
You lock in your monthly payment for 15 or 30 years. (If you kept renting you'd pay more each year.)
Your house gets more valuable over time.
Freezing your monthly payments is where the real benefit is. Were it not for this, for many people it would make more sense to rent. This is the gem that makes home-buying worthwhile.
There are a couple of other advantages to buying:
You can stop making payments when the loan is paid off.
This is a big advantage, but it doesn't get your costs down to zero. You will still pay for taxes, insurance, and maintenance even after your loan is paid off. On a home worth $180,000 that could be around $525/mo. Sure, that's better than the $1000/mo. you could be spending on rent, but it's not free.
You can deduct mortgage interest on your income taxes.

HOW TO SPEAK ENGLISH FLUENTLY

By: Sanu George
Kochi : Call it a magic formula. A Kerala resident claims he can teach people how to speak English fluently in exactly 10 days.
Jacob Nettikkadan, a 68-year-old philologist, claims to have innovated a technique of teaching English that has now found favour with the Kerala education department. He says with his magic formula a graduate can start speaking English on the fourth day itself. Nettikkadan has been doing research on this technique for the past 45 years.
Nettikkadan chucked his job as an export manager in Kolkata 24 years ago and began a short-term course on how to speak English in 10 days.
"I ran this course in Kolkata for nine years. And for the past nearly 15 years I have been teaching people here. By now I have trained more than 5,000 people from various walks of life," Nettikkadan told IANS.
He offers a 10-day residential course for an all-inclusive fee of Rs.5,000. Each batch has 30 students. Every day his session runs into nine hours.
Even if a student wants to go home after four days, he insists that in the remaining six days of the course the student has to speak only English at home. That is why he insists that the course be a fulltime residential one.
"In 10 days, the learner gets 10 times more knowledge in the language because the method of constructing 1,877 types of sentences in English is through 1,877 usages of verb - one type of sentence based on one usage of verb.
"This system will revolutionise future language learning and research to make it simple, interesting, fast and productive, irrespective of its nomenclature or country of origin," said Nettikkadan.
His efforts have now been recognised by the Kerala education department, which is now preparing a five-year-plan to introduce this system in the training curriculum.
"If a student is a graduate, then it is easy to pick up, if not, then it takes a bit more effort to speak English fluently," he said.
Impressed by his technique, American Richard Canandy, who is an accomplished teacher of English, will assist Nettikkadan from the next batch.

ALL SOULS DAY

It is a tradition among Filipinos to visit the cemetery on this day.
People start going their loved one's haven on the 31st of October.
Some are avoiding traffic and some avoids crowded and congested places.
It is a holiday in the Philippines and workers are given time to go to their respective hometowns to commemorate this day with families and relatives.
In my case, we usually go there on the 2nd day of November.
With food and toys and gameboards in case we'd feel bored there.
My mom told me before that November 1st is for the saints and November 2nd is for the souls.
Last November 1 was a Saturday, I convinced my mom and siblings to go to the cemetery because I don't want to feel so exhausted if we'd go there the following day.
We were so happy because we brought my dad's 3 grandchildren- Shaine,Elisha and Paris.
We only stayed there for an hour and a half because of the weather.
It was a cloudy day and we were afraid that it might rain and there were children with us.
A niece came along, too.
At home, my mom prepared glutinous rice and a special kind of noodles for the family.
I was hoping my sister in Japan will call but she didn't.

TOP TEN U.S. PRESIDENTS

The American Presidency is the most honored and revered political office in the world. Great Generals, Attorneys and even Actors have had the honor of being referred as the Chief Executive of the United States of America. The following list contains the best United States Presidents of all time. My determination and analysis was objective as I thoroughly reviewed each President’s historical influence and actions while in office.
1. Abraham Lincoln
"I am a firm believer in the people. If given the truth, they can be depended upon to meet any national crisis. The great point is to bring them the real facts." - Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln, was elected as the 16th President and nearly single handedly saved the Union during the American Civil War. Lincoln's leadership during the Civil War was one of stern direction and no compromise however at the same time Lincoln clearly understood that he would have the task of Uniting the States once the North won the war. Lincoln's actions and vision kept the union together and eventually led to the abolition of slavery in the United States.
2. Franklin Delano Roosevelt
"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." - FDR
FDR was elected as the 32nd President and is the only President to serve four terms as President. Throughout his four terms in office, FDR had an enormous impact on America. Roosevelt worked tirelessly to end the Great Depression, including the creation and establishment of the New Deal implemented to assist America's return to international prominence.
3. George Washington
"The nation which indulges towards another a habitual hatred, or an habitual fondness, is in some degree a slave. It is a slave to its animosity or to its affection, either of which is sufficient to lead it astray from its duty and its interest." - Washington
Washington served as our first President and because of such set forth many important precedents and actions that were later followed by his predecessors. His insistence on not to become a "monarch" was pivotal for American politics. This two term precedent was only eclipsed when FDR served four terms. The 22nd amendment has made certain that no President will ever serve more than two terms.
4. Thomas Jefferson
"I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just; that his justice cannot sleep forever. . . the Almighty has no attribute that can take side with us in such a contest." - Jefferson
Thomas Jefferson, was elected as the third President of America and his decision to execute the Louisiana Purchase, nearly doubled the United States size overnight. Jefferson was known to be a strong state's rights activist who realized the need for consolidating power in the federal government when necessary.
5. Theodore Roosevelt
"No Man is justified in doing evil on the grounds of expedience." - Roosevelt"
Teddy made an enormous impact on America being known as the "Trust Buster" when he vigilantly conquered corrupt businesses. An avid outdoorsman, Teddy was deeply committed to conservation of American wildlife. Teddy established numerous national parks for preservation purposes and halted the rapid expansion of industrialization of his time.
6. Andrew Jackson
"It is to be regretted that the rich and powerful too often bend the acts of government to their selfish purposes." - Jackson
Jackson's election showcased the rise of the common man to the office of the president. Jackson was a man of humble beginnings and with his rise he became the epitome of the American dream. His fame and popularity was enormous. Jackson's actions as a strong nationalist are evidenced by his controversial decisions to move the Native Americans during the Trail of Tears east of the Mississippi and his strong fight against the national bank.
7. Woodrow Wilson
"The history of liberty is a history of the limitations of governmental power, not the increase of it." - Wilson
Wilson was at the helm of control when America was brought into the national stage. Wilson's decision to enter World War I and away from isolationism were seen by many as violating Washington's tenant of avoiding foreign entanglements. However this was unlike any war that Washington had experienced and Wilson's hope of bringing the US into the League of Nations, later the United Nations was realized.
8. Harry S. Truman
"When even one American - who has done nothing wrong -- is forced by fear to shut his mind and close his mouth, then all of Americans are in peril." - Truman
Truman, was elected as the 33rd President and Truman entered into office during one of the most difficult times in American history. Truman made the decision to drop the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Truman then organized the end of World War II and established firm precedents for the beginning of the Cold War.
9. James K. Polk
"No president who performs his duties faithfully and conscientiously can have any leisure." - Polk
With the exception of Jefferson, no other President has increased the size of the United States more than Polk. Polk arranged for the acquisition of New Mexico and California through the Mexican American War. Polk also claimed Oregon Territory after a new treaty with England. Polk stands for and embodies the U.S. notion of manifest destiny. Polk was also an extremely effective leader during the Mexican American War. Many historians consistently refer to him as the best one term president.
10. Dwight Eisenhower
"Every gun that is made, every warship that is launched, every rocket fired signifies in the final sense a theft from those who hunger and are not fed, those who are cold and not clothed" - Eisenhower
Eisenhower's time in office was full of American prosperity and great economic gain. Eisenhower also provided key leadership used during the Cold War.
Honorable Mention / Personal Favorites
John F. Kennedy
"And so, my fellow Americans, ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." - Kennedy
Bill Clinton (no number)^^
"I did not have sexual relations with that woman." - Clinton

VISA and MASTERCARD

This was the question of one of my students.
What's the difference between visa and mastercard?
So, I decided to post this one for everybody..
The two leading credit card companies in the world today are the competitors Visa and MasterCard. They both operate along very similar lines. While Visa can claim to have almost a billion cards issued, MasterCard has over twenty five thousand banks issuing its cards and it is difficult to find any difference in the number of locations worldwide that accept the cards, which is now estimated at over twenty million.
In fact, as far as most consumers are concerned, there is no real difference between the two. They are both very widely accepted in over one hundred and fifty countries and it is very rare to find a location that will accept one but not the other.
However, neither Visa nor MasterCard actually issue any credit cards themselves. They are both simply methods of payment. They rely on banks in various countries to issue credit cards that utilise these payment methods. Therefore, the interest rates, rewards, annual fees, and all other charges are issued by your bank and when you pay your bill you are paying it to the bank or institution that issued your card and not Visa or MasterCard.
How Visa and MasterCard make their money is by charging the retailer for using their payment method. So the truth of the matter is that a Visa issued by say the Bank of Scotland will have very little to do with a Visa issued by other banks and may in fact by more similar to the Bank of Scotland's MasterCard.
What this means for the vast majority of customers is that you do not have to overly concern yourself with whether a credit card is MasterCard or Visa. You would be better off concentrating on the interest and other charges on the card, the balance transfer possibilities or their reward scheme. You are very unlikely to ever be effected by the fact that it is one and not the other.
If you prefer, if you are going to have two credit cards, you may decide that you want one of them to be Visa and the other MasterCard, this means that if something drastic were to happen to one company, or if you were in the unlikely position of finding a location that accepts one but not the other, then you would have the option of paying with either.
At the end of the day however, much more depends on the bank that gave you the card, than on the type of card it is.

HANGOVER
This morning, my student was asking about a word he can't remember, it was about the disagreeable physical aftereffects of drunkenness, such as a headache or stomach disorder, usually felt several hours after cessation of drinking, so I said - it's HANGOVER.
He's suffering from hangover and was asking ways to get rid of it.
But before I tell you on how to get rid of it , here's how you can AVOID having one.
Before your night out begins and throughout the night you can make some wise decisions that will lessen the effects of your misery the next day. Who knows, you may even avoid one completely.
Before you drink:
Eat. Fill your stomach with a healthy meal of starches and essential vitamins and minerals. Note that I said healthy. The food will absorb the alcohol and lessen it's effects on you. If you decide a greasy bar burger or drippy pizza is your idea of a good meal you may regret that idea when the grease mixes the wrong way with liquor and carbonation and you end up staring at the toilet bowl.
Hydrate. Drink lots of fruit juice and water now. Think of it this way, for every glass of non-alcoholic beverage you drink now you will save yourself from having to drink two glasses in the morning.
Prepare your favorite hangover remedy and place it in an easy to open container in the fridge. If you do over indulge the last thing you will want to do in the morning is gather ingredients, mix things and worse yet, run the blender.
A clinical study from 2004 suggests that drinking prickly pear fruit extract several hours prior to drinking will reduce the symptoms of a hangover.
Try one of the many anti-hangover remedies found at convenience store registers and drug stores. I have heard good and bad things about these but have never tried them personally, but it is an option.
While you drink:
Grab a bite to eat at the bar. This is where greasy fries would be okay to eat because it is a snack that will keep your stomach full and add extra material to absorb the alcohol. Bar peanuts, popcorn, any type of food will do the job.
Choose the booze carefully. Again, dark spirits contain more congeners, light spirits fewer, cheap liquor more. More congeners equal more headaches. Stick with quality light color drinks most of the night to reduce your hangover.
Memorize this rhyme and abide by it, it will save you a lot of pain. "Liquor before beer, never fear. Beer before liquor, never sicker."
Alternate alcoholic with non-alcoholic beverages. This trick will slow your alcohol consumption down and still give you something to drink. Choose water, fruit juices or light carbonated beverages. If you are worried about what your friends may think order a mocktail or dress up a straight virgin beverage with a garnish and lie. Call Sprite or 7-Up with a lime a Vodka Tonic or orange juice a Screwdriver or cranberry juice with a lime a Cape Codder. They are probably too drunk to know the difference and who cares anyway, you will feel so much better in the morning than they will, HA!
Consume less than one drink per hour. Your liver breaks down alcohol at the rate of one beer per hour, so spreading out your drinking over many hours will give your body a chance to keep up with you.
Once you make it home and before you crash on the bed force yourself to drink a glass of water and take some Vitamin B. This is also not the time to take any headache medicine (Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, Aspirin) as they could seriously damage your liver.
Important: If you experience tremors, stomach pain, or see blood in your vomit seek professional medical attention IMMEDIATELY. You may have overdone it too much and should go to the emergency room right away.
Here's How To Get Rid Of Hang Over:
Sleep. Rest is your best friend at this point to give your body a recover. It is best to stay in bed so call in to work if you have to, tell them you have the stomach flu. You will sound so horrible on the phone they may believe you (unless they saw you at the bar, not a good idea then).
Replenish your body with fruit juice and water.
Avoid caffeine. A weak cup of coffee may be okay but a lot of caffeine will continue to dehydrate you, the opposite of what you want right now.
Drink orange juice for Vitamin C.
Drink a sports drink like Gatorade or Powerade.
Eat mineral rich food like pickles or canned fish.
In Poland, drinking pickle juice is a common remedy.
Drink a Bloody Mary. While the popular phrase "hair of the dog that bit you" may sound logical with a shot of whiskey left in the bottle next to your bed, it's only temporary. Try a Bloody Mary instead, while your blood is dealing with the new alcohol it is ignoring the old and in the mean time tomato juice and celery are full of vitamins. If you drank the last of the vodka make a Virgin Mary. Another spicy morning after drink option is Hair of the Dog, in which gin and hot sauce are sure to bite your hangover back.
Take a shower, switching between cold and hot water.
In Ireland it was said that the cure for a hangover is to bury the ailing person up to the neck in moist river sand.
Try Alka Seltzer Morning Relief. One reader says that it's all that he and his wife have found that really works for them. He stumbled across this "cure" while his wife was still suffering after two days, within 15 minutes after taking the Alka Seltzer she was fine.
Get some exercise. Another reader suggests doing some sort of physical activity. He writes, "In the rare case of having hangover I usually drink about 1-2 liters of water and go outside to do some exercise like mountain climbing, swimming, cycling or just about anything that keeps me sweating." It takes willpower to move like that when standing seems like a challenge, but it is a good theory.
The side effects of aspirin, Tylenol and ibuprofen can be magnified when alcohol is in your system, so it is best (even though it may be the first thing you reach for) to avoid them to kill the hangover pain. Aspirin is a blood thinner, just like alcohol, and can intensify its effects and Tylenol (or acetaminophen) can cause more damage to your liver. Ibuprofen can also cause stomach bleeding. So be cautious when going for the quick relief.
Watch the video: Hangover Remedies. Jonathan Stewart demonstrates how to make a blended hangover remedy. There are a more than a few ingredients so you may want to have everything organized prior to overindulging.
As an antidote, one reader takes a little extra multi B vitamin and drinks a lot of water before going to sleep.

PAMPER YOUR FEET!

I don't want to spend too much, as much as I could resist on pampering my feet...
Well, as they say, our feet are the most workaholic and tired parts of our body.
In my case, the way I pamper my feet, I feel contented with soaking with a foot soak and a thick cream for the callouses and all, feels heaven to me already.
A woman is not just a woman who has a comely face and a shapely body. She also must be a person whose soul glows with an inner light, who has depth in mind, and who is clean from head to foot. And she'll glow with beauty....
You may not think much of it, but once someone takes more than a passing glance at you, most likely he or she will look at you from head to foot. So it is important for you to take care of yourself and to look immaculate from your hair down to your toes.
Speaking of feet and toes, the heat of summer may have reduced you to wearing flip-flops and open-toed shoes most of the time to make the heat bearable. More than likely, the skin and soles of your feet have hardened due to constant exposure. How ironic it is that the one way to make your feet feel comfortable in the summer heat is also a way that will make your feet dirty and unsightly!
But there are ways of keeping your feet nice, soft and pretty, without having to spend so much on foot spas and salon pedicures. It is only a matter of good grooming, of keeping your feet clean and moisturized on a day-to-day basis.
When you take a shower, rub the hardened skin of your soles, as well as the calluses of your feet, with a pumice stone. Yes, you read that right, a pumice stone. Pumice stones are more effective at exfoliating skin than those fancy foot scrubs available at the market. Just remember to wait till your feet are softened by the water before you stone it.
After you have gleefully rubbed the hard spots off your feet, follow it up with a good foot cream or moisturizer. Dry your feet thoroughly and then apply a generous amount of moisturizer on them. Do this before you go to bed and sleep with your feet encased in socks. You will have soft and smooth feet when you wake up.
Lastly, keep your toenails well-groomed. This means clipping your toenails regularly, never letting them grow too long, removing the cuticles and painting them. Nothing is more unsightly than toenails that are long, have chipped paint and are dirty-looking. If you cannot give yourself a pedicure, make it a point to visit a nail salon every two weeks or so. If you are one of those women who do not like putting nail polish on, then make it a point to buff your toenails with a nail brush.
Since we are on the subject of foot care, do not hesitate to indulge yourself in a good foot massage every now and then, maybe once or twice a month. Not only is a good foot massage very relaxing, Oriental alternative medicine has it that reflexology massage that applies pressure to certain parts of the hands and feet do wonders to your overall health.
A beautiful woman glows inside and out, and is clean and well-groomed from head to foot. Always keep your feet healthy, happy and beautiful.

LIVE AND LOVE LIKE IT WERE YOUR LAST

All that glitters is not gold.
This so many times I'm told.
But what is gold?
What is its cost?
Can it be measured
if all is lost?
Is it warm?
Is it cold?
Can it comfort
when we grow old?
Can it buy you love?
Can it bring you joy?
Is gold a commodity
that you heart can enjoy?
Can it say I love you
and dry a sorrows tear.
Will it grow more tender
year after year?
The gold that really glitters
is the gold that I see.
When you have entered a room
and your eyes see me.
Your eyes have the glitter
and oh how they do glow.
The wealth is in
the gold I see.
Found in the love
Between you and me.
Live and love each day
as though it were your last.
FASHION PITFALLS
Smart dressing is very important if only because what clothes we wear and how we actually wear them tells a lot about the kind of people we are. They say that clothes make the man, or woman, as in our case, and it is indeed true.
We do not have to be fashion gurus or runway models to be able to look the part of the smart dresser. Most of the time, all it takes is to be neat, clean and presentable, and to be presentable, you have to use a bit of common sense and to avoid these everyday fashion pitfalls. You may find some of them funny, but woe to you if you are found guilty of such errors. Read on, learn and enjoy.
The everyday fashion pitfalls that you should avoid include:
Wearing outfits that are see-through. We always hear that less is more, and that adage is definitely applicable here. The less skin seen on you is oftentimes a lot better than baring it all. A touch of modesty does not hurt. Besides, wearing see-through clothes make you look on the slutty side, so it is best to shy away from them altogether.
Carrying a belly bulge. Even the slimmest women can be ruined by wearing pants hemilnesr skirts that are too tight at the waist. A waistband that is too tight pushes up the flesh of the abdomen, and it is quite ugly to look at. How can you breathe when your pants or skirt is too tight, anyway? Make sure that the waist of your bottom garment fits just right not too tight, and not even snug.
Sporting an underarm cleavage. If the flesh on that part of your breast which meets the underarm bulges up, it means that the sleeve holes of your top are too tight and that your bra does not fit you snuggly. It also means that you should get a bra that is just the right size for your breasts. A right-fitting brassiere has cups that are just low enough to easily rest against your breasts.
Dragging hemlines for pants. Do the hems of your pant legs get caught in your shoes when you are walking? The solution to this problem is to have the legs of your pants sewn in such a way that when you are wearing mules and such footwear, they are long enough not to get caught in.
Squeezing in the sleeves. It is the autumn season and winter is fast approaching. Because it is cold, sweaters have become a necessity. Now, there are nice, warm sweaters out there that have really bulky sleeves. If you are going to wear a jacket or a coat over them, make sure that the sleeves of this jacket or coat are wide enough to accommodate those bulky sleeves.
Showing sweat stains. Sweat stains are very unsightly. If your clothes have them on the underarms and they would not come out with washing, consider wearing these clothes for doing heavy chores like yard work instead. If you have a problem with your sweating, use a deodorant and consult a doctor.
Unsightly panties. If you think panty lines are horrible, you should look upon bunched up panties with even more horror. If your panties are too old and too stretched out already, give them a rest and throw them away. Neither should you wear panties the straps of which show outside the waistband of your pants. It is so dumb and so unneat.

DIFFERENT KINDS OF SHOES
Women certainly love their shoes.
Are you like Carrie Bradshaw, the sassy fashionista character played by Sarah Jessica Parker in the HBO hit series Sex and the City, who has some $40,000.00 invested in a closet full of shoes but has yet to wear all of them?
Do you know your shoes?
If you do know your shoes, then well and good for you. You can go ahead and skip the rest of this article.
But if you do not have even the smallest of ideas as to what kinds of shoes there are around, then perhaps it may interest you to skim through the rest of this piece.
So, do you know your shoes?
Pink shoes
Ankle strap shoes. Ankle strap shoes are shoes that have buckled or elastic straps that are fastened around the ankle. They can either be sandals or pumps. However, ankle strap shoes where the strap is a ribbon or string that is wrapped many times around the ankle and are tied are more often called ankle wrap shoes.

Ballerina flats. Ballerina flats are footwear that have flat heels and closed toes. Aside from these, ballerina flats often show most of the top of the wearers foot and are also styled like slippers.

Clogs. Clogs have thick platform heels, traditionally made of wood but can now be made from other materials. They also have closed toes and open backs.

d'Orsay pump. A dOrsay pump is a type of shoe where the sides are cut away to reveal the arch of the foot.

Espadrilles. Espadrilles are slip-ons made of woven fabric and with a flexible sole. The fabric making up the shoe is usually canvas.

Kitten heel shoes. Kitten heel shoes are pumps with thin and low heels set. These heels are set in from the back of the shoes and often emphasize the feminine shape of the heel.

Mary Jane shoes. Mary Jane shoes are shoes that have straps over the top of the foot. These shoes can either have just one strap or more than one. Mary Janes also come in different heights.

Mules. A shoe is a mule if the back is open and the toes are closed. But unlike clogs, the heel of a mule can either be chunky or slender, regardless of height.

Platform shoes. A platform shoe has a thick sole at the front. The heels can either be wedged, thick and chunky, or even stilettos.

Slide shoe. A slide shoe is a slip on shoe that has either a single strap or a set of straps across the top, but with both the toe and the back open. A slide shoe can come in flats or can also have a heel of any type or height.

Sling-back shoes. If a shoe has a strap at the back instead of having a full, closed back, it is a sling-back shoe. A sling-back shoe can either have an open toe or a closed toe.

Stiletto shoes. Stiletto shoes have slender, high and pointed heels. They are also called spikes.

Wedge. Wedge shoes are those that have triangular heels that run from the back of the shoe to the middle or even the front, creating a wedge shape. Wedge shoes come in different heights.
