We are going to commemorate my dad's death anniversary on the 12th of October. It's been 4 years now since he passed away. But I can still remember the details like it was just a month ago....
I miss my dad so badly.
I didn't have enough memories of him when I was young because we grew up far from him.
We are the second family.
His first wife passed away when I was still very young and that was the first time he introduced us to his children.
They were five of them and we are five also.
They were grown up, have jobs, some have their own families and kids as well.
I don't know what happened when he let us move to his house with some of his children who still live in the house and were still single at that time.
And that was the only time we spent more time with dad ..got to know his daily routine, habits and got to know him well.
He cooks for the family. He was a very good cook.
He had lots of roosters for cock fighting. That was his vice.
He is also a very good carpenter, by the way.
I was in college when he went to the US for a visit to one my half sisters, Ate Lita, who's a head nurse in a hospital there.
He spent 3 months in the states and when he went back to Manila.
He was again invited to visit another daughter, Ate Emma, who lives in Japan.
It became his lifestyle..TRAVELLING. Going to-and-fro Japan and the U.S.
He got opportunities to visit relatives living abroad, especially in San Diego.
But the problem was his health..He was 65 years old. And is suffering from hypertension already. He had several strokes but luckily recovered from it.
His last travel was in Japan. It was winter time and they were inside a movie house when he had stroke again. This time, it was complicated that he needed to go home (Manila) because of extreme temperature there.
He was paralyzed.
We all took good care of him but there were lots of complications.
His body went weak, so weak.
And finally said GOODBYE.
to be continued....
