My colleagues call me ANDREA but it 's not my real name.
According to my immediate superiors, my real name is hard to pronounce and doesn't sound American.
So , they came up with that name and I have been known Andrea for almost 3 years now.
I´m working as an English as a Second Language Teacher and I became fascinated with foreign names at one time - particularly names of Nationals who doesn´t use the English alphabet for their given names.
As an English Teacher, I am, sometimes, asked by my students to give them an English name, if they don´t have one. And so, I would find myself giving them an English name like I was giving candies. It was fascinating, how a person who´s been called Lee Wang Hee (or some such name) for all of his 35 years in life, will, in a snap, be called David or Jason, or whatever name I would fancy at the time. And they answer to it! –and use it for all of their dealings in the English world.
My name sounds Spanish so I asked my hubby for an English name he'd call me or would suit me and my personality.

He stared at me and sighed and said Stacey. Stacey is a variant of Anastasia.
Anastasia, which in Greek means "resurrection" and is derived from the two words "Ana" meaning up and "Stasis" mean standing or stable.
It is 847th most popular name in the U.S.
The following is a list of famous people using the name Stacey:
Stacey Augmon - basketball player
Stacey Blades - guitarist from various bands
Stacey DePass - a canadian voice actress
Stacey Elder - American supermodel
Stacey Elliott - actress

Stacey Glick - actress
Stacey Williams - model; actress
Stacey Farber - Canadian actress
Andrea and Stacey....sound good....
But no, I 'll still choose to be called the name my mom gave me.
We will share the same name until I die.
It's our name...a glorious name...!
